Description : |
Interleukin 12 (IL-12) is a regulatory protein produced by activated B lymphocytes and macrophages. The biological activities of IL-12 include the stimulation of growth of activated CD4+ and CD8+T cells and NK cells. Human IL-12 is a disulfide linked heterodimeric protein with a molecular weight of 70 kDa comprised of disulfide-bonded 35 kDa (p35) and 40 kDa (p40) subunits. |

Source : |
HEK 293 cells |
Formulation : |
Lyophilized from 2mg/ml in 0.5x PBS pH 7.2. |
Stability : |
The lyophilized protein is stable for a few weeks at room temperature, but best stored at -200C. Reconstituted Human IL-12 should be stored in working aliquots at -200C. |
Purity : |
Greater than 95% by SDS-PAGE. Endotoxin level
is less than 0.1 ng per µg (1EU/µg).
|
Reconstitution : |
We recommend a quick spin followed by reconstitution in 1x PBS pH 7.2-7.4 to a concentration of 0.2 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at 40C for 1 week or at -200C for future use. |
Biological Activity : |
Determined by the stimulation of IFN-gamma production by murine splenocytes co-stimulated with IL-12. The ED50 for this effect is < 0.1 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of >1 x 107. |
