Description : |
IL-23 is a proinflammatory heterodimeric protein composed of two subunits, a
unique p19 subunit and a p40 subunit, which is shared with IL-12.IL-23 is secreted by activated dendritic cells and macrophages, and signals though a receptor
comprised of IL-23R complexed with IL-12Rβ2. IL- 23 has been shown to enhance proliferation of memory
T cells. It also stimulates the production of IFNgamma in NK cells, induces IL-17 production, and
drives Th17 mediated responses.
Recombinant IL-23 is a 53.5 kDa heterodimeric protein consisting of two subunits, p19 (170 amino acids) and p40 (306 amino acids).

Stability : |
The lyophilized protein isstable for a few weeks at room temperature, but best stored at
-200C. Reconstituted Human IL-23 should be stored in working aliquots at -200C.
|
Purity : |
Greater than 95% by SDS-PAGE. |
Endotoxin Level: |
Endotoxin level
is less than 0.1 ng per µg (1EU/µg). |
Reconstitution: |
We recommend a quick spin followed by reconstitution in 1x PBS pH 7.2-7.4 to a concentration of 0.1 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at
40C for 1 week or at
-200C for future use.
|
Biological Activity : |
Determined by the stimulation of IFN-gamma production by PBMC.
The ED50 for this effect is < 10 -20 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity
of >1 x 105. |
