Description : |
Transforming Growth Factor-beta1 (TGF-beta1) is a member of a superfamily of homologous, disulfide-linked, homodimeric proteins that regulate the proliferation and differentiation of normal and transformed cells. Human TGF-beta1 is a 25.0 kDa protein with each subunit containing 112 amino acid residues. |

|
Formulation : |
Lyophilized from Sodium Citrate, pH 3.5. |
Stability : |
The lyophilized TGF-beta1 is stable for a few weeks at room temperature, but best stored at -200C. Reconstituted TGF-beta1 should be stored at -200C. |
Purity : |
Greater than 98% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analyses.
Endotoxin level is less than 0.1 ng per μg (1EU/μg).
|
Reconstitution : |
We recommend a quick spin followed by
reconstitution in water to a concentration of 50 ug/ml. This
solution can then be stored at 40C
for 1 month. It is recommended that further dilutions be made
in PBS containing 2mg/ml albumin and stored at -800C.
|
Biological Activity : |
The ED50 was determined by TGF-beta1 ability
to inhibit the mouse IL-4-dependent proliferation of mouse HT-2
cells is <0.05 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of
2 x 107 units/mg.
